Almost to watchmaker's precision, Nick Popich displays his SAR Class 16DA (3½" gauge) locomotive James Hall Transport Museum's hall. Although still under construction from the last 10 years, every part is made to perfection. What you find on this model, will be found on the full size version too ! ! A master-piece will come of this locomotive when completed.

A frame of a SAR Class 15 F model locomotive for 7¼" gauge (scale +/- 1/6th Scale). This locomotive is being built by Johan Gerber of Centurion Society of Model Engineers, Pretoria. As you can see this locomotive will be huge when completed. This locomotive will be 3.447 m long( with std. tender), will stand 0.688 m high at chimney and width will be at 0.45 m.

The low cloud cover, fog and rain lifted the Saturday afternoon allowing the modelers the chance to steam up. Driving Johan Gerber's Clayton Steam wagon is Stephan Du Preez ( 14 years old ). Stephan had a difficult time to dodge many large and sometimes deep puddles of water left by the rain to get onto the tarred road, where he was able drive the steam wagon with more ease.
